Your Practitioner

Katya grew up riding and handling horses with experiences ranging from spending time in the show ring to county standard, both under saddle and in-hand, to fittening work with trotters and pacers in her hometown of London.

On leaving university in 1997 Katya co-managed the BHS approved Mudchute Equestrian Centre in East London and it was during this time she decided that she wanted to spend time riding in a more competitive environment.

In 1998 Katya joined the team at Downe Farm Competition Yard in Devon where she competed in many disciplines, taking the lovely De Beer youngsters of the day up through the ranks to national level competition. While here, Katya first encountered the McTimoney treatment. She was struck by its gentle approach and powerful effect and drawn by the possibility of being able to train to treat animals. She began the long journey towards qualification in January 2002.

Katya graduated with a BSc (Hons) from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, Oxfordshire in 2007 and after a year in practise she began her MSc in Animal Manipulation, completing this in November 2009.

Katya runs a volunteer clinic at the Bath Cats and Dogs Home in Bath where she treats dogs and cats (and sometimes rabbits!). Here, she has gained a lot of experience of different dog breeds, temperaments and problems.

Katya's special interests include working with pregnant mothers, children and animals. She runs human clinics in Bath and Trowbridge and travels throughout the Southwest region to visit animal patients.

Katya is a wife to husband Pete and a mother to 2-year-old Freya.

She is fully registered with the General Chiropractic Council and a full member of both the McTimoney Chiropractic Association and The College of Chiropractors.
